The Frankfurt engineers Klaus Bollinger and Manfred Grohmann are both active in the field of load–bearing structures. They do not regard themselves, however, as solely structural engineers, but rather as creative design partners to the architects. They have realised numerous projects encompassing residential buildings, offices, business premises, buildings for exhibitions and events, bridges and high–rise structures, collaborating with notable architects such as Frank O. Gehry, Hans Hollein, Toyo Ito, Kauffmann Theilig & Partner, KSP, Kazuyo Sejima and Claude Vasconi. The first part of the book comprises 6 essays which describe the specific form of cooperation between Bollinger + Grohmann and their close partners . The second part documents 25 international projects from this engineering office, which focus on features of construction.
