About the Author:

Gary Miller, PhD, is currently the associate director of the division of campus recreation at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, a position he has held since 1990. A prolific writer and a highly sought–after speaker at professional meetings across the United States, Dr. Miller is widely respected for his ability to understand and apply business concepts to his field.

Heather Horn, MS, is serving in her sixth year as a human resources specialist in the division of campus recreation at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. In addition to human resources, she has managed toe ActiveLEAD (leadership) program, led a climbing tower as a certified climber, emceed multiple events, and conducted a professional conference as a graduate student.
